Read and Rated: January 2016

A Head Full of Ghosts. One of the most highly recommended reads of 2015. I was incredibly excited to read this book, and when I got my hands on it, I devoured it. But not because I couldn't put it down. I could. And did. Frequently. I found this book to be lacking in compelling atmosphere. I found the ending to be flat and not shocking and the climax was a let down. I was expecting a mysterious terror, a slowly creeping demon madness that consumed a family. What I got was slow moving reality.
2 stars.
If you want to have a good, belly laugh and be completely pulled out of your stressors. People I Want to Punch in the Throat is the book for you. Snappy and witty, this book I couldn't put down and didn't want to. Just read it. You won't be sorry.
5 stars.
It took me a while to get into The 5th Wave, but once I did I wasn't sorry. At all. This YA adventure is poignant and action packed. And it will make you question yourself, which is the mark of a great story.
4 stars.
